Region4 is aiming its Video Storage Pro 2500 hard drive at videographers who need a way to quickly transfer footage from their RAM-based videocameras to hard disk for editing, or just so they can get back to the job at hand.
The 500GB hard drive inside is complemented with a multi-format flash media reader and a 2.4″ LCD screen that allows the quick review of footage shot in the field. With space for hundreds of hours of footage, the battery-powered device can operate independently in the field and then plug into video editing systems for quick transfer. The device offers Firewire, USB, or eSATA connections to suit any configuration.
Region4 claims that its patented X-Copy technology provides data transfer speeds of up to 80MB/second, with typical hard drive accoutrements such as free-fall sensing and shock protection ensuring data isn’t inadvertently lost.
The Video Storage Pro 2500 500GB Hard Disk costs $2599 and is available now.
