Reviews

While the majority of storage devices are designed to expand what’s available to your Mac or iOS device, the Sandisk Memory Vault is designed for a different purpose: It’s a data archiving device. When the Memory Vault is connected, it appears as a regular removable drive. The idea is that you copy your valuable photos, videos or documents to the device, label it and store it somewhere safe. Sandisk claims that the Memory Vault will hold its data for up to 100 years.

Our main complaint is that Sandisk only offers the Memory Vault in 8GB and 16GB capacities.

Given the rate at which families shoot pictures and the size of modern images, we would need to be very selective as to which images we archive.

Macworld Australia’s buying advice.

The Sandisk Memory Vault is a great idea and could help with creating the discipline to archive our files.
