Kensington Keyfolio Executive
Well-designed keyboard and stand function
Expensive; somewhat bulky
Kensington’s KeyFolio Executive case sports a multitude of features and added function for your iPad wrapped up in one – somewhat bulky – design. While its form may deter some, the folio case does cater to a market of users who travel a lot, or work on the fly.
Unzip the KeyFolio Executive and you’re presented with a removable Bluetooth keyboard; case enclosure for your iPad that doubles as a stand (which you attach and adjust using the Velcro base); a series of smaller compartments to contain business and appointment cards, in addition to a larger side pocket for a notebook; and an elastic loop to hold a pen or stylus. Considering all of this, it’s little wonder the folio’s breadth is greater than most.
The exterior is made from a leather-like material that is easy to keep clean and resistant to water. Inside, the case is lined with microfibre to protect your iPad (second-generation and later) from falls or scratches.
The keys on the keyboard are responsive and type smoothly.
To activate Bluetooth connectivity with your iPad, simply press the button on the keyboard and the connection is enabled within seconds.
For users wanting quick and easy access to send an email, or jot down a memo, the KeyFolio is an apt tool to help get the job done.
The keyboard component is removable, which makes for easy cleaning, or added space if you don’t need to take it with you.
Also included with the folio is a USB charging cable to keep the keyboard powered.
Macworld Australia’s buying advice.
While the KeyFolio Executive from Kensington doesn’t flaunt the slickest or most modern design on the market, its practicality and solid performance make it a good option for managing business on the go.
At $129.95, it’s not cheap, but if you have a genuine need for what the design offers, it’s an investment worth considering.
