Echo MX

Capacity meter

Up to $226.25 (128GB)

The Lexar Echo MX answers one of the most common questions we ask of all storage devices: How much space is left? The drive has a simple LCD capacity meter on the front.

We had no problems connecting the Echo MX to a USB port, with the drive available in just a few seconds. Lexar claims it can read data at 30MBps and write at 13MBps. In our testing, we found this to be reasonable.

Like its little brother, the Echo ZX, the MX comes with EchoBackup for backing up your data continuously to the stick and the YuuWaa cloud storage service. The software is included.

Macworld Australia’s buying advice.

The Lexar Echo MX has reasonable performance, comes with backup software and has a useful capacity meter. Those extra features make it a good-value option.
