Crumpler Pinnacle of Horror
Padded enclosure for laptop; water-resistant zippers; comfortable; surprisingly spacious
Limited colour choices
Crumpler, an Australian-born company, has a serious reputation for quality, durable bags. Crumpler’s Pinnacle of Horror laptop bag is no exception, offering durability and practicality in fashionable style.
The Pinnacle of Horror is available in black, rifle green, gunmetal (grey) from Crumpler, but is also available in red or black editions as part of an exclusive collection only available from Apple retail stores.
We managed to get our hands on the vibrant, red version and from day one it grabbed the attention of those passing by. However, the limited array of bright colours may disappoint some potential buyers.
The bag features a padded sleeve capable of securely enclosing a 15in laptop, internal and external zippered pockets, an adjustable strap and a water-resistant roll-top opening design.
The lightweight laptop bag snugly held our 13in MacBook Pro – with the Velcro closure keeping our Mac from escaping its padded enclosure – and our iPad, headphones, notebooks and necessary, yet miscellaneous, work items.
A change of clothes will fit alongside a laptop and its accessories. While the Pinnacle of Horror works best as a daily-commuter, it would also work nicely as carry-on luggage for a business flight.
A number of internal and external zippered pockets hold your belongings securely and out the reach of potential thieves. The front, folding design hides the zips and provides further water-resistance.
The rear pocket is padded and fits an iPad comfortably – even with a bulky case attached.
The Pinnacle of Horror is very much for the Mac user on the go. It will not suffice for a two-night trip interstate, nor does it appear to be designed for the traveller with a copious amount of belongings. It will, however, safely house your precious contents during your daily commute or act as a small travel bag.
