Melbourne, Australia – 7th June 2011 - Melbourne based direct marketing platform, MoneySaver has launched MoneySaver Vouchers, Australia’s first national geolocated consumer deals iPhone app. The app boasts vouchers from hundreds of businesses across thousands of locations Australia-wide. New vouchers from new businesses are being added everyday.
MoneySaver Vouchers is available as a free download on the iTunes app store or through www.moneysavervouchers.com.au. It allows users to search for vouchers by category or keyword. Using iPhone’s built in GPS, the app allows users to locate nearby deals through Google Maps, across categories including: food, hair and beauty, automotive, fashion, convenience, leisure, travel and more.
At a time when the Australian – and global – consumer’s purchasing habits are evolving, MoneySaver Vouchers promises to offer the value of group-buying, the convenience of local area offers and the instantaneousness of vouchers.
“One in three smartphone users are now being directed to local businesses through their mobile phones,” said Managing Director, Paul Lidgerwood. “By 2013 it is predicted the internet usage on mobile phones will surpass that of PCs. It only makes sense to give users an option to find the saving they want, when and where they want it – wallet in hand.”
Civic Video is one of several large retailers offering great deals through the MoneySaver app. Avril-Summer Cusack from Civic’s Marketing team is excited about the possibilities this new technology holds for their nearly 200 stores. “We are using the MoneySaver app as a way to not only drive new members with free rentals, but also offer great deals to existing members,” Avril stated, “it is a great opportunity for us to target a whole new digital market.”
Coinciding with the launch of MoneySaver Vouchers, a mobile site has launched giving the full functionality of the app to non-iPhone users – including the full suite of geolocated deals.
