Lonely Planet is offering its world-leading travel pictorial titles on the iBookstore for the first time. From today, readers can download the best-selling Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel, The Travel Book and Lonely Planet’s Guide to Travel Photography as ebooks, gaining access to expert tips on the best destinations, journeys and experiences for the year. The books can be viewed on an iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch and are the first Lonely Planet guides to be released in Apple’s fixed-layout format, which retains the page layout, font and designs of the original print titles.
To mark the launch of these ebooks, Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel is available free, for a limited time, exclusively on the iBookstore. Further information is available at lonelyplanet.com/ibookstore.
“We are thrilled to have these fantastic titles available as ebooks for the first time. Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel, The Travel Book and Lonely Planet’s Guide to Travel Photography are sure to inspire readers to hit the road,” said Lonely Planet’s Trade and Reference Publisher Piers Pickard. “They look fantastic, particularly when viewed on an iPad, and we’re sure travellers will love having Best in Travel and other titles available in a digital format.”
iBookstore is included in the free iBooks app for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.
In addition to these titles and a growing range of ebooks including Audio Phrasebooks, Discover and Encounter titles, Lonely Planet has City Guides, Phrasebooks and Audio Walking Tours available on mobile devices.
