Nemetschek has announced the 2009 release of their Vectorworks line of design software. The products include Designer, Architect, Landmark, Spotlight, Machine Design, Fundamentals and Renderworks.

New to the 2009 edition is Parasolid, a faster core engine that provides 4 to 5 times the performance of the previous software for modeling operations. Usability, 3D modeling and workflow optimisation has also been improved.

All told, Nemetschek counts more than 70 new features in the 2009 release of its CAD software for Mac OS X and Windows. New features include similar object creation; improvements to plant population in landscape areas; reference deletion improvements; eyedropper support for design layer viewpoints; improved offset insertion mode for 2D symbols; automatic universe assignment; drag and drop import; DWG/DXF 2009 import and export; real-time Lightwright import and export; PDF snapping; editing mode improvements and more.

Vectorworks will ship in Australia on September 26. Pricing starts at $2228.60 inc GST for Vectorworks Fundamentals.
