Twitter reacts to Steve Jobs

Twitter struggled to keep up with users from around the world mourning the passing of Steve Jobs.

It was a historic day online and for social media with the reaction of his death recording 10,000 tweets per second.

The most recent record was 8868 tweets per second, when Beyonce revealed she was pregnant at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. Prior to this Osama Bin Laden’s death recored over 5000 tweets per second, Japan earthquake and tsunami recorded 5530 tweets per second and the Royal Wedding recorded 3966 tweets per second.
