With a few weeks still to go in 2010, Google has announced the ten most watched YouTube videos in Australia for the year. More than 13 million hours of video was uploaded to the video site in the past year, and most of the entries in the top ten are made-for-YouTube originals. Though we’re not sure whether that’s a good thing or not.

Here are the top five, presented for your pleasure. The Old Spice one is definitely worth a look if you haven’t seen it before.

Google also revealed YouTube’s most-searched terms for each month of the year that was. Though it was introduced toward the end of January, ‘iPad’ was able to beat all else to be the most searched term for the month. Perhaps everyone just wanted to re-watch Jony Ive calling Apple’s long-awaited tablet ‘magical’. The full list is below:

  • January – ‘iPad’
  • February – ‘luge’
  • March – ‘eclipse trailer’
  • April – ‘dog man’
  • May – ‘airplanes’
  • June – ‘california gurls’
  • July – ‘old spice’
  • August – ‘teenage dream’
  • September – ‘x factor’
  • October – ‘commonwealth games 2010′
  • November – ‘firework’
