Telstra may have been enthusiastic in its support of the iPhone to date, but the company has made a major commitment to the Apple icon by launching a service that lets Foxtel customers watch more than 30 Mobile Foxtel channels on their phones.

The service is an extension of Telstra’s existing Mobile Foxtel TV, which has delivered a range of on-demand content to Telstra mobile customers since it was launched last year. Content available to iPhone users includes channels like Fox 8, Fox Sports, and MTV as well as rebroadcasts of V8 Supercars races, although Telstra said in a statement that the new service represents a relaunch of sorts including stereo sound and higher-quality video.

Content will be delivered to iPhone-using customers as streaming video at a flat rate including a capped $18 per month for the Mobile Foxtel Ultimate Combo. Other packs, such as Kids and Entertainment, are available for $12 per month. A day’s access costs $4 for those curious to try it out. All services are unmetered so they do not affect customers’ data allowances.

Existing Telstra iPhone customers can access the new services via the BigPond Portal, which is accessible through the Big Pond Mobile for iPhone Safari bookmark.
