Rainmaker Research has announced the release of Spell Catcher X 10.3, an update to the collection of writing improvement tools. It costs $US39.95 ($A60). Upgrades from previous releases are available.

Spell Catcher provides spell checking for more than a dozen languages, and adds a variety of writing productivity features not embedded in the operating system.

New to the 10.3 release is DirectCorrect, which lets you instantly check documents for errors, see them highlighted and correct them. The Proximity Linguistic System (PLS) has been upgraded for Spell Catcher’s spelling, thesaurus and definition dictionary.

New input modes have been added, French language localisation is new, a new submenu has been added to the Auto Show Suggestions command, Find in References, Look Up, Learned Words and Shorthand Glossary windows have been updated, and many other enhancements have also been made.

System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.4.3 or later. edit shorthands
