SoundHound’s music recognition app already can identify songs stuck in your head. After an update to the app this week, SoundHound can now recommend similar songs that you wouldn’t mind your brain spontaneously singing throughout the day.
The 3.6.1 update to SoundHound comes with a recommendation service that suggests songs users might like based on the song they are trying to identify. The recognition software makes recommendations based on the user’s choice of the artist, their “Underplayed” status, and their “Hottest” data through a proprietary search engine that weighs all three forms of the song’s data levels.
SoundHound 3.6.1 also comes with the ability to see and edit Twitter and Facebook feeds when you’re trying to share your latest musical finds with your followers and friends, as well as the ability to share your comments and recommendations through e-mail or an SMS text without having to retype the message.
The full version of SoundHound costs $5.99 on the App Store. There’s also a free ad-supported version that limits users to five songs per month.
