Microsoft has today released an update to its popular video contact platform Skype for Mac (version 6.9), that now lets users choose between sharing their whole screen or a specific window, when screen sharing.
As tuaw.com notes, this is a significant change, because it greatly enhances privacy for users, who don’t want to share the contents of their entire screen with other users.
There are several other changes and bug fixes, including:
- a mouse cursor that renders as hand over links
- chat messages always now appearing
- support for three more languages – Swedish, Finnish and European Portuguese, and
- improvements to the tool bar search field.
Microsoft also says that it has fixed the bug that caused the name field to overlap the mood message on some contact profiles.
The free download of Skype 6.9 is available now.
