Vodafone Hutchison Australia has announced plans to woo customers who were looking to line up at one of the competitors for the iPhone 4 launch at midnight Thursday. Instead, anyone in Sydney wanting to score an iPhone 4 as Friday rolls around can party in style on VHA at the Ivy. Sure beats sitting in the cold.

It’s first in, first served from 10pm tomorrow night (Thursday, 29 July), so you may still have to queue. Register at the flagship 3 and Vodafone store at 285 George Street, Sydney CBD, and you’ll get yourself a number that reserves you a shiny new phone. Then you can party at the Ivy with an evening of food, drinks and entertainment courtesy of Vodafone and 3 while you wait.

When the clock strikes 12, you’ll be escorted (according to your number order) to the Vodafone or 3 store to grab your phone.

“When our valued Vodafone and 3 customers come out on a cold, wet night to buy this highly anticipated device, we don’t want them freezing, waiting in a queue,” said Vodafone Hutchison Australia’s director of marketing, John Casey. “If they have to wait, we want to look after them in style. At the end of an awesome night, they will walk away with their newly purchased iPhone 4!”

The details

Head to the 3 and Vodafone Store, 285 George St, Sydney CBD by 10pm to register your purchase in store and collect your numbe.

Then party at the Ivy from 10pm to 3am, and get your iPhone 4 some time after midnight.
