Samsung releases new ads taking aim at iPhone 6, Apple Watch

Samsung, iPhone 6, ads, macworld australiaSamsung released a set of videos on YouTube yesterday, targeted directly at the iPhone 6, Apple Watch and even the live streaming of the 9 September media event which saw the launch of the new products.

The ads, designed to mock and make fun of Apple’s new products, are set in what appears to be a storeroom of an Apple retail store, with two would-be Apple Store workers, or ‘Geniuses’ discussing various aspects of Apple’s new products.

They create a parody of elements such as the screen size upgrade for the iPhone, comparing it to similar-sized Android phones. The Apple Watch is also mocked, with one ad pointing out the Samsung equivalent does not need to be linked to a phone to realise its full capability.

The rest of the ads are largely an attempt to differentiate Samsung’s similar products from the new Apple products. There is even an ad that pokes fun at the issues that plagued the live streaming of the 9 September event.

This is not the first time Samsung has attacked new products from Apple, and it most likely will not be the last.
