Samsung announces plans to launch Google TV

Samsung Electronics is set to close a deal with Google, and have announced it plans to launch a Google TV in 2012, revealed Yoon Boo-Keun, head of Samsung’s TV division.

The company plans to launch its Google TV at an event in 2012, however will not be at the Consumer Electronics Show held in January in Las Vegas, said Yoon. He also claimed that Samsung Google TVs will be different from those offered by its rival and that Samsung aims to lead the market by next year.

Google recently launched an improved version of Google TV, aiming to reach out to a wider audience.

Google TV is available on certain models of Sony and enables users to access online, access videos, social media and features a number of specialised apps.
