We got a tip-off this afternoon that the long-anticipated MacBook Pro refresh is just around the corner. While we can’t reveal the source, this person is familiar with Apple product cycles and inventory levels.

The source said that an update to every MacBook Pro model was expected on Tuesday, 13 April (which would be a Wednesday, 14 April release in Australia), but was unsure about the MacBook Air. The source was also unsure of any further information regarding a local date for the iPad release, but agrees that 24 April is likely.

If the source is correct, this definitely makes April a busy month for Apple, with the US iPad release just gone, iPhone OS 4.0 announcements tomorrow, and the global iPad launch we’re all hoping for in only a couple of weeks.

Please let this be so, Apple. It would be good to finally report on some real Mac news after all this iPad/iPhone hoopla!

Note: Edited article to reflect Australian timing of the release to show this would follow normal Apple refresh patterns.
