According to the release notes, the update includes under-the-hood fixes. Specifically:

  • Fixes an issue where applying a configuration profile to set allowSpotlightInternetResults to False would cause Spotlight to use large amounts of CPU time.
  • Fixes an issue where applying a configuration profile to set ShutDownDisabledWhileLoggedIn to True would have no effect.
  • Fixes an issue where only a single NetBoot image would appear in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences, even if multiple NetBoot images were configured on the server.

Before updating your Mac, back up your data. To install the update, launch the App Store app and click on the Updates tab. The update should appear in the updates available list. Click the Update button to install it. Your Mac will need to restart to complete the installation

Another update for El Capitan – the last update I did has not been kind to me and my macbook pro – is it worth the upgrade as I’m keen to revert back to the previous El Capitan version.

  4. Macworld Australia Staff says:

I tend to update almost as soon as the updates are available. I’ve not had any hassles on my Mac mini or MacBook Pro.
