According to a Windows blog, Microsoft’s Windows version 8 will be available from October 26.

Microsoft President of the Windows and Windows Live Division Steven Sinofsky announced at the company’s annual sales meeting that customers will be able to get Windows 8 – as an upgrade or on a new PC – starting on October 26.

Microsoft has not officially confirmed that Australia will be one of the 131 markets to receive the US$39.95 upgrade, although some reports say it’s likely to happen, given that Australia qualified for the previous US$14.99 upgrade for PC consumers.
