Nokia has announced news of a patent license agreement with Apple, which will finally resolve the ongoing saga surrounding patent litigation between the two companies.

Mashable reports that under the agreement, ‘Apple will make a one-time payment to Nokia and continue paying royalties for the term of the agreement.’

While details of the agreement have not been released, but it’s likely that the payments from Apple will be substantial. The money comes at a good time for Nokia as the company faces losses in the smartphone market share due to fierce competition from Apple, Samsung and Google.

Nokia recently advised that net sales for its second-quarter of  sales projections will be significantly less than a previous estimate of US$8.8 billion to US$9.5 billion, according to Mashable.
