Last updated in July 2011, the Mac mini is expected to gain an Ivy Bridge processor and could possibly include USB 3.
The current Mac mini models start with a 2.3GHz version with a 500GB hard disk, Intel Graphics, and 2GB RAM, we are confident that the RAM will be increased to 4GB on the low end model.
There is also a 2.5GHz version currently with a 500GB hard disk, 4GB RAM and a AMD graphics card. We expect that this model will be replaced with a larger hard disk and probably integrated Intel graphics.
The 2.0GHZ server version is likely to get a hard disk size boost from 500GB.
It is anticipated that Apple will launch a 7in iPad mini alongside a 13in Retina Display MacBook Pro and a so-called teardrop styled new iMac at an event on Tuesday 23 October (4am AEST on October 24 in Australia), just days before Microsoft launches Windows 8 and the Surface with Windows RT Tablet.
