If you’re eagerly awaiting a brand new iPod – of the shuffle, nano, or touch variety – you’ll be excited to know that they should be arriving in stores this Thursday, 9 September.

TiPb notes that readers are receiving confirmation emails with shipping dates as far away as 14 September for the iPod touch, while Macrumors reports dates from 10 September. However, Australian Macworld has heard that local Apple Stores will receive stock as early as Thursday.

So if you’re hoping to get your mits on the new iPods as soon as possible, we’d suggest getting to your local Apple Store bright and early on Thursday morning. Afterall, the online Apple Store is still only promising delivery within 5-7 or 7-10 days, depending on your preferred model.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t apply to the new $129 Apple TV, which is still expected to ship towards the end of September.

UPDATE (10pm, 8 September): Apple has confirmed with us that the new iPods will begin shipping tomorrow (Thursday, 9 September), so get down to your nearest store if you’re desperate for the new models.
