New iPods coming on 14 July

Not surprisingly, the launch of Apple Music will be accompanied by some new iPods. And, reflecting the move towards streaming rather than storing music, it seems the new models will have reduced storage capacity.

Some new colours, as seen in the iPod images that came with the release of iTunes 12.2 yesterday, show the iPod touch, iPod nano and iPod shuffle sporting a new shade of blue, as well as pink and gold.

Although there’s no direct evidence out there yet for the reduced storage, it makes sense now that we carry less music than before.

With the Apple Watch having storage and playback capability that’s independent of the iPhone, we’d expect some of the iPods to work similarly.

Ridiculous. LESS storage for a device that can’t access the internet at all times? What a stupid concept.
