Apple’s suppliers have started mass production of the next generation of the full-size 9.7in and smaller 7.9in iPad according to a Bloomberg report.
Sources said that while the unveiling of each model was projected for different periods this year, both the new iPad Air and iPad mini will most likely be available by the end of the year, in time for the all-important Christmas shopping season.
The report also reveals some new information in terms of the features of the next generation iPad, mentioning a new anti-reflective screen-coating for the iPad Air – making the display easier to read. Previously, iOS devices have been limited to oleophobic, or fingerprint-resistant screen coatings, reports AppleInsider.
Details on similar new information regarding the 7.9in iPad mini display were not available.
Since the iPhone 6 is reported to be unveiled during a big media event on 9 September, it is possible that the next generation iPad will also be revealed then.
