Victoria’s newest Apple store is set to open in Westfield Southland, according to a person familiar with the matter.

A reliable anonymous source contacted Macworld Australia claiming the company has a site in the Cheltanham shopping centre, with the company considering staff for the new location. Apple is currently advertising for ‘specialist’ positions in an undisclosed location in or around Melbourne.

The opening is expected to occur before Apple opens its Melbourne flagship store in a location in or around Crown Casino.

The move follows strong growth in the company’s retail division and record popularity of its iOS and Mac products in the Asia-Pacific.
