MYOB updates AccountEdge software to benefit Mac and iOS users

Australian software providers MYOB have announced updates to AccountEdge, its Mac accounting suite from today, with new features and improvements aimed to deliver greater mobility and efficiencies to Mac, iPhone and iPad clients.

Key changes include integration with the latest iOS devices; Retina display optimisation; ability to create a new job and add new customers, quotes and scope of works on your iPhone or iPad.

MYOB CEO Tim Reed says, “AccountEdge is developed especially for our Mac clients to easily manage invoicing, expenses, GST, inventory and payroll on the platform they love.

“It’s optimised for Mac features such as Retina display and includes a mobile application to make business life easier for those on the go. One of the great benefits is you can now throw away your log book and track mileage on your iPhone or iPad then sync that back to AccountEdge.”

The AccountEdge refresh also adds the option for users to securely perform offsite backup data directly to Dropbox.

MYOB’s AccountEdge suite comprises of AccountEdge Basic – aimed at sole traders with less advanced accounting requirements; AccountEdge Pro – designed specifically for small- to medium-sized businesses employing staff; and AccountEdge Network Edition, which caters to multi-user accounting, inventory and payroll on a Mac for small- and medium-sized businesses.

Back to basics. AccountEdge Basic offers greater transaction control with Customise Service Sales options.

Basic, Pro and Network Editions of the AccountEdge software now feature new interface command centres, with quick access to frequently used functions such as ‘Favourite’ and ‘Recent’ in an onscreen sidebar.

In addition to MYOB’s Mac software, the company’s free iOS application, AccountEdge Mobile, has also undergone numerous tweaks.

Designed to enable users to complete basic business transactions such as quotes, orders and invoices on their iPhone or iPad, AccountEdge Mobile now includes Retina display support for sharper imaging on the iPad, mileage tracking capabilities that can be synced back to the Mac-version software, custom transaction numbering on invoices, the ability to create new customer jobs on the go and much more.
