Further evidence that Apple is planning to increase the display resolution of the iPad 3 has emerged.
Recent reports from Taiwanese sources claimed the iPad 3 would have a display with a resolution five or six times higher than that of the iPad 2 and would launch in Q4 of 2011.
Since then, images of the Twitter framework in the iOS 5 beta have been discovered by the Techunwrapped website that suggest the iPad 3 will indeed have a resolution of 2,048 x 1,536, double the 1,024 x 768 display of the original iPad and iPad 2.
Techunwrapped concludes that the images must mean that the iPad 3 must be due to come out at around the same time as iOS 5, which will happen at some stage in spring. So we could see the iPad 3 as early as Q3, even earlier than the previous reports had claimed.
There have been plenty of rumours about the iPad 3′s display circulating in recent months, with some claiming that it could even have 3D screen.
Others have claimed that Samsung is manufacturing AMOLED (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode) displays for Apple’s next-generation tablet.

Are people forgetting that Steve said in Feb that 2011 is the year of the iPad 2? If anything I think we may see a iPad pro. A beefier version of the current iPad 2.
Only over 5 months after the previous? Unlikely. This IS the year of iPad 2.
iPad 3….. didn’t the iPad 2 come out 5 seconds ago?
I have an iPad 1, though I guess I’ll wait for the iPad 8 to come out next year before I upgrade.
Seriously Apple, give me a better MBP first!
I can’t think of any Apple product that has had a mid cycle release… Therefore I find it hard to believe that the iPad3 will be released anytime soon.
Yes it will come out by the end of this year, and yes it will be the one to get, too.
But,why bother with an ipad, when one can have a real computer, that is just as portable, yet way more useful,ie mba.!!!
