Cutting Edge have announced 19 finalists for their ‘Make Me Appy’ competition from over 250 entries, with members of the Australian advertising, production, design and marketing communities submitting their best app idea.
The highest number of submissions came from the advertising industry at 41 percent, followed by design at 30 percent and production at 16 percent. No genre was untouched – entries ranged from games to business applications, to augmented reality ideas and innovative navigational systems.
Our very own Macworld Australia Editor-In-Chief, Dave Bullard, was the judge and had a tough time whittling down the applicants. With the assistance of the Macworld Australia team, the app submissions were assessed on creativity, originality, commercial viability and adherence to budget.
The winner, announced on Friday, 28th of September, will receive $20,000 of free App development and design services by Cutting Edge Digital.
“Looking at the sheer quality and diversity of submissions, I think choosing a winner isn’t an enviable task. Australia has some incredibly creative, insightful and forward thinking people and Cutting Edge is thrilled to support the development of one of their app ideas,” said Nic Harman, Marketing Director of Cutting Edge.
