Top design house Lousi Vuitton has launched its 100 Legendary Trunks app for iPad, joining a fashionable stash of other luxe brands who have tailored their wares for the iOS platform.

The new app is a modified version of the label’s same name book, celebrating 100 years of Lousi Vuitton luggage through an interactive tour. The archive offers users access to illustrations, photos, sound clips and video footage.

100 Legendary Trunks also pays tribute to the prolific list of celebrities who have travelled with the luggage, starring names such as Harry Houdini with his specially designed magician’s trunk, a custom-built vanity case belonging to Sharon Stone and others.

The app was launched in conjunction with LV’s ‘Year of the Trunk’ celebrations beginning in March with a themed runway show that featured an actual steam train at the venue. It’s expected that the company will release other iOS offerings as part of the ongoing event.

LV, to date, has two official iOS apps – the first is Amble with Louis Vuitton; a free travel aid download for iPhone launched in 2011.

Louis Vuitton 100 Legendary Trunks for iPad costs $19.99 at the App Store and can be downloaded here.
