We’re sitting here, patiently waiting for the courier to deliver the iPhone 6s (gold, 64GB) we pre-ordered a few days ago. Apparently, it’s on board with the driver who started his or her day on the other side of town.
The good news, this gives me some time to prepare to switch across to my new iPhone.
Over the years, I’ve established a ritual for swapping to a new iPhone. Here’s what I do.
- Update all apps on the iPhone
- Connect to my Mac and backup. Twice.
- Restore my new iPhone from the backup of my old iPhone
It’s not a quick process, but this seems to be the best way for me.
In the meantime, you should take this time to:
- Update all your apps.
- If you haven’t already updated to iOS 9, check that all the apps you rely on work with iOS 9. Whenever there’s an iOS update, there are a few apps that don’t work correctly.
