iPhone 6 in PTV stage ahead of 9 September launch

iPhone-6-rumours-macworld-australiaThe iPhone 6 is allegedly set for launch on the 9 September despite rumours Apple has not moved into mass production yet.

According to the technological news website MacRumors new reports from Chinese media sources (Google Translate, via G for Games) suggest the iPhone 6 has moved into the PVT (Production Validation Testing) stage.

CEO of Chinese publication CCTIMES Xiang Ligang said Apple was working with Foxconn’s Zhenzhou factory to produce a small number of units for final quality control tests.

But it is unknown whether both 4.7in and 5.5in iPhone 6 have entered the PVT stage as Apple allegedly had production issues with the latter’s display according to a report from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

An earlier report by the Economic Daily News (Google Translatesuggested iPhone 6 mass production had begun in July.

In addition to larger screens, the new flagship handset(s) are expected to feature an A8 processor, faster Wi-Fi and an improved camera.
