Yet more tantalising images of purported iPhone 5 cases surfaced over the weekend, suggesting that the next generation iPhone will be taller and wider, as well as feature a ‘teardrop’ shaped design.

According to 9to5Mac, which sourced more photographs of both silicon and hard cases for what appears to be an iPhone, previous reports of the ringer switch swapping sides appear to be accurate.

Plus, the cases, which are designed to fit the iPhone tightly, are 5in tall and 2.8in wide, compared to the iPhone 4 which is 4.5in tall and 2.31in wide. These larger specifications back up previous reports that the iPhone 5’s screen will be larger than those in previous models.

The supposed teardrop design of the iPhone 5 is also demonstrated in the leaked cases, which are thinner at the bottom than they are at the top.

While this is certainly still classified as a rumour, it’s likely to be a pretty reliable one given how close we’re getting to what is widely expected to be the iPhone 5’s release date in September.
