An iPhone 5 case made by design brand Allanbritto has appeared on website Kickstarter.com, indicating that the six-generation Apple iPhone could be taller than its predeccors, the iPhone 4 and 4S.
The idoStand – a metal case with built-in handset stand – was touted by the designer as offering “valuable protection and functionality” and was compatible with the” iPhone 4/4s/5″.
In one of the images featured in the campaign, a lineup of iPhone models shows a slightly taller-looking device in the centre, with the Apple logo followed by “iPhone 5″ beneath it.
In another photo, a side-by-side shot shows what looks to be an iPhone 4S next to a device with the same logo and branding on the back panel.
The maker offered the purported iPhone 5 case as a bonus with any purchase of the iPhone 4/4S version:
“Now get one idoStand Bold for your 4/4S and receive one for your iPhone 5 as well!”
The accessory featured as a Kickstarter.com campaign where online visitors must pledge money to fund its production, with a total pledge of US$20,000 set as the benchmark. However, the bidding time ended, with pledges narrowly missing the half way mark at US$9,788.
Allanbritto is now showcasing the idoStand on his official website, although there are no images or information pointing to an iPhone 5-compatible case.
