Swiftkey-iOS-8-macworld-australiaThree of the third-party keyboards now available after the launch of iOS 8, have reached the top positions of the paid and free apps charts in the US and other countries, including Australia. One of those is SwitftKey, which has surpassed one million downloads in less than 24 hours.

As of writing, the Australian App Store charts has Swype – Keyboard and Fleksy Keyboard – Happy Typing coming in at numbers one and five on the top paid charts, while SwiftKey comes in at number four on the top free charts.

Representatives from SwiftKey told MacRumors that they passed one million downloads in less than 24 hours after launching for the first time on the iOS platform.

The ability to download third-party keyboards is a new feature courtesy of iOS 8, and it appears set to be a highly popular one, as Android users have long enjoyed the choice of multiple keyboard interfaces.

Both Swype and Fleksy Keyboards are now available in the App store for $1.29 each, while the SwiftKey app is free. Each app offers its own unique setup, including elements such as predictive text and swipe-rather-than-type options.
