Well, that was fast. Just a day after Apple released its iOS 6.1.1 update, the Evad3rs team has updated its own Evasi0n jailbreak tool to version 1.3, letting you liberate your phone again.
Apple released the iOS 6.1.1 update on Tuesday to correct the 3G connection issues on the iPhone 4S. The updated hack lets you keep Apple’s official fixes while retaining your phone’s jailbroken state.
Luckily, the latest version of Evasi0n is just as easy to use as the last version for Mac, Windows, and Linux. The tool will safely update your device to iOS 6.1.1 and then jailbreak it again. We also recommend that you back up your phone before you start the process so you can quickly restore its data and settings.
Although Evad3rs member Planetbeing confirmed that the iOS 6.1.1 update was not intended to squash any jailbreaking exploits, the next numbered release — perhaps 6.2 — is expected to do just that.
As always, hack at your own risk: Jailbreaking your iOS device could void your warranty.
