Les Posen, current president of iMug and psychologist, will tell an illustrated story, using Keynote, about the experience of Macworld Expo, from getting invited, to arriving for the Jobs Keynote, to becoming part of the conference faculty, to what happened during and immediately after the talk, to the more long term effects — an insider’s tale of Macworld if you wish.

This will be AUSOM’s Main Presentation on Saturday, May 31st, commencing at 1.00 p.m. in the Swinburne University Prahran Campus theatre on Level 3, Building PA, corner of Thomas and St John Streets, Prahran, just 150 metres from the intersection of High Street and Chapel Street.

AUSOM is the largest Apple user group in Australia with over 800 members and may now be the largest in the world.

This meeting and all activities are free. AUSOM has a day of meetings on the first Saturday of each month. It hosts over 20 Special Interest Group sessions on subjects such as iPod and iTunes, digital video, digital photography, Microsoft Office, genealogy, Mac news and gossip, Filemaker, iWork, Web authoring and operating systems. Beginners and new starters are specially catered for.

A one to one help system is available for visitors new to computing and many members help deal with specific technical problems. Visitors may attend any of the meetings on the day, ask questions and participate fully. Refreshments are on sale. CDs and DVDs of interest to Mac users, both beginners and experienced users, are also on sale.
