A new round of photos said to depict a working iPad mini have been leaked online, ahead of the tablet’s rumoured launch in October.

The images – leaked by Chinese website Bolopad (via Mashable) – show what looks to be a 7.85in tablet, with a number of features previously reported, including a narrower side bezel and the same 8-pin Lightning dock introduced with the iPhone 5. On its screen is a working display, of what appears to be iOS 5.

While it’s still unclear if the photos are authentic, if speculation of an October announcement is correct, MacTrast reports it could be the first of many images offering early previews of the device, similar to leaks of the iPhone 5 in the lead up to its introduction by Apple this month.

In addition to the specs shown in the photos, the iPad will reportedly be as thin as Apple’s iPod touch, with a projected price point ranging between US$200-US$300.
