The late Steve Jobs’ birthday is today – marking 57 years since the Apple founder was born – and while he is not here to celebrate, fans around the world are paying tribute to the occasion.

Mac devotees Brendan McElroy and Seth Rogers are planning a party in honour of Jobs at Apple’s flagship store – 59th Street and Fifth Avenue – in New York. The event will see ‘dancers gyrate to Bob Dylan songs while vegetarian birthday cake is served and black turtlenecks are handed out to hundreds of Apple fans’, according to the New York Post.

There’s been no word from Apple in regards to company plans to commemorate the occasion. Some have speculated that Apple may  announce a product release or update to coincide with the day – last year on February 24 the MacBook got an upgrade – but so far. there’s been no clue as to whether it will happen again.
