Google has delayed the consumer launch of its Nexus Q, but will send free devices to those who pre-ordered Google’s steaming media player.

According to All Things D, Google informed the members of the public who pre-ordered the Nexus Q in an email that it has “decided to postpone the consumer launch of Nexus Q while we work on making it even better.”

The move was as a result of “initial feedback from users that they want Nexus Q to do even more than it does today,” Google’s email said. “To thank you for your early interest, we’d like to extend the Nexus Q preview to our pre-order customers and send you a free device.”

The Google Q, priced at US$299, connects Android devices with televisions and audio systems, providing access to the Google Play store and YouTube.
