The world’s first images of an unboxed iPhone 5 have made their way online, showing the device and its environmentally-friendly packaging, similar to the materials previously used to ship earlier iPhone models.
Website BGR posted the photos today, ahead of the iPhone 5 launch on Friday September 21, showing the internal layout of the box, and added peripherals that come bundled with the handset.
“…the company’s new EarPod headphones are bundled with the iPhone including a plastic travel case,” the BGR reports.
“Also included is a new power adapter that supplies more power to the phone when charging, and of course the Lightning to USB cable.”

As observed by AppleInsider, the iPhone 5 packaging contains compartments to separate the accessories, a change from the iPhone 4S box which separated the peripherals with standard dividers.
A follow up examination of the images from MacTrast notes the black box matches the ‘Black and Slate’ iPhone 5 colour design, leading the website to speculate whether the ‘White and Silver’ model will also ship with colour-corresponding packaging.
The iPhone 5 goes on sale in several countries, including Australia, on Friday September 21. National Apple Stores and authorised resellers will open their doors to the public t 8am.
