Firefox, mac, macworld australiaFor those who like a bit of variety on their iOS devices, the Firefox web browser provides an alternative to Apple’s Safari.

Firefox for iOS is free and available from the App Store. If you like using Firefox on your Mac and have an account with Firefox, you can sync your bookmarks and access your history and open tabs from any device. This is very similar to Apple’s capacity with Safari assuming you’re using an iCloud account.

  1. Jamie says:

But as all browsers on iOS are locked in to using UIWebView for loading and rendering content any alternative browser is just a different user interface.

Also as access to the Nitro engine is limited to Safari no other browser gets that speed boost.

  2. Discerning Reader says:

Safari limits syncing with other Apple devices only. Firefox can sync across devices on all the major platforms.
