Today, rumours have surfaced that Apple is planning to release the latest edition of Final Cut Pro at the National Association of Broadcasters conference in Las Vegas next week.

9 to 5 Mac is reporting that Apple’s taking over the entire ‘Vegas Supermeet’ event to unveil the latest iteration of its popular video editing software, which was last updated in 2009. ProVideoCoalition is claiming that Apple has taken over the entire event for the announcement, cancelling all presentations from other sponsors, including AJA, Avid, Canon, BlackMagic and Autodesk. The conference’s website was recently updated, dropping the previously-mentioned sponsors and advertising a “very special guest” with a “sneak peak at something very special.”

Apple Steve Jobs claimed in November last year that the 64-bit version of Final Cut Studio would require users to ‘buckle up.’ Do these latest updates mean mean that takeoff is imminent?
