Filter Squad hits 1.5 million downloads, releases new app

Perth-based app development company Filter Squad have announced the release of a new app – Discovr Movies – on the back of  hitting 1.5 million downloads of their app collection, 500,000 of which were received in the last two months.

To celebrate their recent success, the company has  Discovr Movies ($0.99) – an interactive map for iPhone, iPad and Mac that makes the process of discovering new movies easy.

2011 has been eventful for Filter Squad who have been recognised with numerous awards for their app-making efforstm as the company explains:

“We’ve released three Number 1 apps and closed two funding rounds in less than a year. We won Best Mobile Startup at MIDEM 2011 in Cannes, as well as the Greatest Potential Award in the Australian startup competition Tech 23.

We also got listed in Billboard Magazine’s Ten Top Music Startups of 2011, and featured by Apple as one of the best music apps in their App Store Rewind 2011. Holy gigantic shark!”
