FileMaker today announced that its two iOS apps, FileMaker Go 12 for iPad and iPhone, have been downloaded over 100,000 times in their first week.

The free apps were released on 5 April to coincide with version 12 of the full-featured relational database Mac software FileMaker Pro. They allow users to run databases created within FMP12, and boast new themes, design tools and improved file management.

FileMaker marketing and services vice-president Ryan Rosenberg believes the reaction reaffirms FileMaker’s strong position.

“The rapid adoption of FileMaker Go 12 strengthens FileMaker’s position as a leading platform for creating custom iOS business apps,” he says. “Businesses are using FileMaker Pro to create apps to manage everything from their inventory to contacts to salespersons’ routes, and deploying these on their iPads and iPhones with FileMaker Go.”

FileMaker 12 has received extremely positive reviews, including five mice from Macworld Australia’s Keith White  and is available on the App Store.

A free 30-day trial of FileMaker Pro is also available from the FileMaker website.
