FileMaker, Inc. today announced a new version of Bento for iPad. Version 4 replaces version 1.1 and brings the iPad version into line with the Mac version update, currently 4.1. According to FileMaker Asia Pacific Systems Engineer, David Head, this is a complete rewrite of Bento to accommodate a number of powerful new features which include:
- One-tap linking to the Bento Template Exchange with free access to hundreds of predesigned templates.
- New design tools which give users unparalleled control over the organisation and display of their information in Form view, Table view, Split view and the ability to display a single field in full-screen.
- 40 new themes which take full advantage of the Retina display on the latest iPads The ability to add encrypted fields, GPS location fields and calculations.
- A record slider which allows the user to scan very quickly through records.
Special Australian pricing from the App Store for Bento for 4 iPad is $5.49 until the end of July. From 1 August the price will be $10.49.
Although Bento for iPad is a standalone app, users who wish to sync with Bento on their Mac can purchase Bento 4.1 for Mac at the special price of $32 until end July when the price rises to $55. Available from the App Store or direct from FileMaker.
