Something that looks an awful lot like an iPhone screen that’s gained weight recently popped up on a Chinese reseller’s website, suggesting that Apple might very well be working on a smartphone with four-inch display.
Reports have emerged in the last few weeks that the company is ‘completely redesigning’ its flagship phone, with 9to5mac claiming that the iPhone 5 is expected to sport an integrated SIM card, an upgraded processor known as the A5, a Gobi WWAN chip, along with the edge-to-edge display.
The supposed leak follows comments from Apple’s acting CEO, Tim Cook, who tacitly suggest the company may be considering a cheaper iPhone when he claimed it doesn’t want its products to be “just for the rich,” and is “not ceding any market.”
Along with rumours of an ‘iPhone nano’ is talk of a prototype iPhone with a slide-out touchscreen and physical keypad. The development that would be highly unlikely, and leads Australian Macworld to suggest that perhaps the entire round of speculation is hokum.
