Apple fans will have to wait until Friday morning to get their hands on the iPhone 5, with Australian telecoms refraining from opening their doors for a midnight launch, instead joining Apple Stores with an 8am opening.

According to Gizmodo, Telstra, Optus and Vodafone will focus on pre-order sales from 8am AEST on September 21.

In a blog post, Telstra confirmed it will open 100 stores early on Friday, including its flagship stores in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. Click here for a full list of Telstra stores opening at 8am.

iPhone 5 pre-orders from Apple are set to be delivered by courier on Friday, however many customers will have to wait until October to receive their new smartphone after Apple’s first shipment sold out in less than an hour.
