Apple Senior Vice President of Industrial Design, Jony Ive, will design a one-of-a-kind version of the Leica M camera, with only one unit being produced and auctioned off for charity.

Leica M announced the collaboration yesterday in Germany, but stopped short of revealing the limited edition camera’s technical specs, or desing aesthetic, as reported by Mashable Tech.

The current Leica M camera features a 24-megapixel full-frame CMOS image sensor, 3in LCD screen and HD video recording capabilities.

Jony Ive, who recently purchased a US$17 million house in San Francisco, has not commented on the project, suffice to say the one-of-a-kind camera will likely attract strong interest within the design community and participating bidders.
