The iPhone section of the iDisk app has been updated to support iOS 4 and the iPhone 4’s Retina display. Multitasking support allows users to quickly switch between apps while keeping the current document open, and you can now stream audio from your iDisk in the background while browsing other apps.
Meanwhile, the iPad version features a two-column view of the user’s iDisk in landscape mode, as well as a popover view in portrait mode. Users can view, share, delete, and open iDisk documents in other programs (like iBooks) while in the app, though there’s no current way to upload documents or photos from the iPad or iPhone. Apple’s MobileMe iDisk app is only the third app from the company to support both the iPhone and iPad; in addition to iBooks, Find My iPhone has also been optimised for both mobile devices.
Other miscellaneous additions include copy-and-paste support for the URL of a shared file, various stability improvements, and the ability to send a message about a shared file from any configured email account.
